Overview

About the stadium

Pakansari Stadium is a modern football arena in Cibinong, the seat of Bogor Regency in Indonesia's West Java province, just south of the capital Jakarta. Opened in 2015, it quickly became one of the most up-to-date sporting venues in the country and a favoured home for the Indonesia national team.

A modern arena near Bogor

The stadium holds 30,000 spectators and is designed as an all-seater bowl with cover around the entire perimeter. The pitch is laid with high-grade Bermuda grass that meets international match standards. It is owned and operated by the Bogor Regency government, making it a source of regional pride.

Its main uses include:

  • home matches of Persikabo 1973 (Liga 1)
  • fixtures of the Indonesia national team, senior and youth
  • major international tournaments and cups
  • concerts and other large public events

Thanks to its location close to Jakarta and its modern infrastructure, Pakansari rapidly became one of the archipelago's key football venues, hosting prestigious international events time and again.

History

Journey through time

The stadium was built as part of Bogor Regency's ambition to create a modern multi-purpose arena capable of staging matches at the highest level. After its completion in 2015, Pakansari soon caught the attention of the Indonesian football federation PSSI.

A stage for big tournaments

The ground earned its reputation during the 2016 AFF Championship, when it hosted Indonesia's semi-final and final matches in front of packed stands. Two years later it became one of the venues for the 2018 Asian Games football tournament, including the gold-medal match.

Other notable events include:

  • the 2017 President's Cup final
  • the 2018 PSSI Anniversary Cup
  • the 2018 AFC U-19 Championship final
  • the scheduled 2026 ASEAN Championship

In 2023 a major renovation began to prepare the arena for further international challenges. In a short space of time, Pakansari amassed a varied collection of fixtures that made it one of the most important football venues in Indonesia.

Atmosphere

Matchday

When the Indonesia national team plays at Pakansari, the arena turns into a sea of red and white. The supporters, nicknamed the Garuda faithful, generate a deafening backdrop that can rattle even seasoned opponents.

A roaring football night

For national-team games and Persikabo matches, the stands fill with passionate fans who sing, drum and wave flags for the full ninety minutes. The fully covered structure bounces the noise back onto the field, amplifying the cauldron of emotion.

Typical match-day experiences include:

  • chants and choreographed songs throughout the game
  • a sea of red-and-white shirts and flags
  • drums, pyrotechnics and ultras' choreography
  • a family-friendly buzz around the ground before kick-off

The atmosphere at major tournaments such as the AFF Championship ranked among the loudest in Southeast Asia. Pakansari has thus built a reputation as a ground where home advantage truly counts.
