About the author

Matěj Samec

Founder & Editor

I run WorldStadiumsMap as a curated project about football architecture and culture. Data is sourced from Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, and official club sources. The site is operated by Samec Digital s.r.o.

Data sources

  • • Wikidata — structured facts (capacity, year opened, architect, GPS)
  • • Wikimedia Commons — photos under CC/PD licences
  • • Official club websites — current information about stadiums and upcoming projects
  • • Wikipedia — contextual information and history

Editorial policy

Facts are verified against at least two independent sources. For planned and under-construction stadiums, every event (announcement, groundbreaking, completion) is accompanied by a link to a primary source. The project is updated continuously. If you find an error, contact us via the contact page. Some of the descriptive texts about stadiums are generated automatically from these sources by artificial intelligence; we state this under Article 50(4) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the AI Act), applicable since 2 August 2026.
