Overview

About the stadium

Indomilk Arena is a modern football stadium in Kelapa Dua, Tangerang Regency, in Indonesia's Banten province, just west of the capital Jakarta. It serves as the home ground of Persita Tangerang, one of Indonesian football's traditional clubs, and forms the centrepiece of the sprawling Tangerang Kelapa Dua Sport Center.

Fortress reborn

The stadium was originally designed for a capacity of up to 30,000, but following a major renovation in 2024 it now offers a tidy 15,000 single seats. It ranks among the most modern arenas in the country and, beyond league football, has begun to host international fixtures.

  • Home club: Persita Tangerang
  • Opened: 2018 (renovated 2024)
  • Capacity: 15,000 (originally designed for 30,000)
  • Complex: part of the Tangerang Kelapa Dua Sport Center, with a gymnasium, basketball arena, climbing wall and baseball field

History

Journey through time

Construction began in 2014 and was completed in 2018, when Persita Tangerang moved in. The arena replaced the older, cramped Benteng Stadium in central Tangerang and was named Stadion Benteng Taruna, a nod to the region's fortress (benteng) heritage.

A commercial milestone

In 2021 Benteng Taruna became Indomilk Arena after Persita reached an agreement with its main sponsor, the dairy brand Indomilk (part of the Indofood group). This was the first commercialisation of a stadium name in Indonesian football, paving the way for other clubs to follow.

  • 2014–2018: construction
  • 2018: opened as Stadion Benteng Taruna
  • 2021: renamed Indomilk Arena
  • 2024: renovated to 15,000 seats

In 2025 the arena hosted 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualification matches, confirming its growing international standing.

Atmosphere

Matchday

The atmosphere at Indomilk Arena is shaped by Persita's supporters, who call themselves Viola and Laskar Benteng Viola. Their signature purple (viola in Italian) floods the stands at every home match, creating one of the most colourful fan backdrops in Indonesia.

A wave of purple

The fans are known for their choreographies, relentless chants and community actions around the stadium. Thanks to the compact layout following the renovation, noise from the stands bounces straight onto the pitch, producing a tight, loud environment.

  • Supporters: Viola / Laskar Benteng Viola
  • Colours: purple and white
  • Trademark: elaborate tifo displays and chanting

Derbies and clashes against Indonesia's big clubs pack the stands and turn the arena into a hotbed of West Java passion.

Practical info

Visiting the stadium

Indomilk Arena sits in Kelapa Dua, Tangerang Regency, on the western edge of the Greater Jakarta metropolitan area. Its location near Jakarta makes it accessible from across the region.

Getting there

  • From Jakarta: by car or taxi via the Jakarta–Merak toll road, roughly 45–60 minutes depending on traffic
  • By train: KRL Commuterline suburban services to Tangerang, then a taxi or ride-hailing app (Gojek/Grab)
  • Airport: Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is only a short drive from the stadium
  • Parking: the large sports complex offers parking right next to the arena

Tip: Arrive early on matchday — traffic around Tangerang can be heavy. You'll find plenty of Indonesian street-food stalls around the complex.
